What's new this year?
This year, we conducted an online survey. We listened, and have some exciting changes for this year's event! These include a BRAND NEW RACE (the duathlon), a new 5km course, reversal of some routes, medals for every participant... and spot prizes are back! We have also reassessed our prize giving format, and will be running one prize giving, to ensure we have a buzzing atmosphere right up until the last race. To say we are excited about these changes in an understatement!
How much does it cost to enter the event?
Click into our 'Categories' tab across the top of our site to see the various prices for each event.
Can I bring my dog to walk or run with me?
As this is a working farm it is strictly NO DOGS at this event. Please leave your dog at home - do not leave dogs tied up in the carpark or in cars. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Where abouts is the event held?
Check out the location page - the event will also be signposted from the main rd and if you follow Longbeach road towards the sea you really can not miss it!
Where do I get updated on what's happening closer to the event?
If you are on Facebook please 'like' our page to receive regular updates. We're also on Instagram- our handle is 'longbeachcoastal'. We pride ourselves on providing good communication with our entrants so if there is anything we have missed please contact us!
Can my under 5 year old enter the 5km Fun Run/Walk?
There is no minimum age for 5km fun run/walk. If your child is capable of walking/running then please register them and they will get a race number, a sausage sizzle and a bottle of Pump. If your child is in a buggy or will be carried they are free and just bring them along (they will not receive a race number or sausage). All children under 5 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Who organises this event and where do the profits go?
This event is fully run by volunteers from Longbeach School and the Hinds and Districts Lions. ALL profits are 50/50 split between these organisations to support the local community and youth in Mid Canterbury. The Hinds and District Lions also donate a portion of their profits to the Maia Health Foundation.

We have prize money up for grabs for each senior category, spot prizes, and new registration packs filled with some exciting pieces from our sponsors- you will receive these registration packs on the collection of your race number!
